Hello, hope everyone is having a good Easter Sunday. We are finishing our tax return today, ugh. May just be filing an extension, but have to pretty much work through it to file the extension. It blows my mind to realize I did tax work for 30 years and actually liked it, but that was before my Arthurs and all the meds took their toll on that part of my brain. Just writing these blog posts has been wiping me out even with Honey helping me, but I can create art all day long no problem. It really is therapy. 😚😉 I've been making myself blog what I make because if I don't I lose track and end up with a lot of unpublished blog post drafts. The meds make it almost impossible for me to multi-task and I was advised to not even try. But I've been missing visiting you all a lot, so am going to try to visit and comment as I can. Just please know I very much appreciate those of you who have kept on commenting here, it has been like a lifeline for me and has kept my spirits up. 💓💜💖
So I did save this Easter/Spring card to post today, as it was made and mailed off a while back to our dear daughter and son-in-love. The sentiment says Spring but it also has Easter eggs and a bunny, so I made it to celebrate both. If you read the inside sentiment further down, you'll perhaps get why.
I used Cheerful Sketch's April challenge sketch, but I rotated it 90 degrees counter-clockwise to better accommodate my image. I also resized it to be A7.
In 2005, I fell in love with KI Memories Pieces of Me 12x12 collection. The little scrapbook supply website I often used had the entire collection (card stock, patterned paper, stickers, tags) and I bought it. Over the years I've used it here and there and back again. Every time it has lifted my spirits to create with it, so it must be some kind of magical attraction to the colors and designs for me. I've used 2 of the paper patterns on this card, along with an SU card base. And I was not consciously aware at the time I chose the patterns that one would be like Easter eggs and the other very Springy. Gotta love that! I ink-edged the papers with some light brown chalk ink. The sentiments and the flowers are die cuts. The steampunk bunny with his eggs is a LeighSBDesigns digital image and I have colored it with Promarkers and metallic glitter gel pens.
Here is the inside. I created the sentiment in PSE and printed out on some white paper. I matted the inside with another sheet of the KI POM collection.
The back is matted with the same papers as the front, along with a stamped and circle-punched siggie.
Close-up shots to show the metallic glitter areas. on the eggs and hat.
And final view. I do like how this turned out and I like that bunny, too. I can see using him again without the eggs for a masculine card as he's whimsical but not cutesy. The eggs were not easy to color with all those gears, but I'm glad I have my gel pens!
Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day! XOX
MY CHALLENGE PLAYLIST:
I was inspired by the colors plus I think that the idea of a Steampunk Bunny requires one to favor imagination over knowledge. 😁😁
I was inspired by the eggs and the colors.
Inspired by the greens and of course the bunny; also the layout of the food resembles a gear
Pretty! I love how you decorated the inside and outside. Full of Spring! Thanks for joining us at Creatalicious Challenges.
