Sweet Treats of My Life

Happy Monday to you! Hope you are all well. Today I'm celebrating my 66th birthday, so I thought I'd make an art journal spread about some of the sweet treats of my life. The simple joys, after all. I woke up at 4 a.m. this morning with this spread in my head and spent my day making it.
Base paper is DCWV 12x12" Floral Stack. The stenciled music was done with Tim Holtz's Concerto stencil and Distress inks. The title was created in PSE on a digital image "Spring Frame" by Alex Syberia and colored with Promarkers, Tombows and gel pens. The edge of the frame was colored with a blue Wink of Stella. The Emeraude perfume bottle was printed off the internet and colored by me. The piano keys, hearts and wedding rings are Visible Image stamps I colored and fussy cut. The art stamps were also colored and fussy cut. The woman drinking tea is a Gecko Galz image. Behind it is an Impression Obsession stamp Bookshelves stamped and colored by me. The floral spray is a stamp/die from Avery Elle I colored. The flowers in the red tea tin is Tea Time by Jan's Digi Stamps that I colored. I created my sweet treat words in PSE and printed out then colored with Promarkers.

I used the current sketch at TN Time with Lisa and Lori, in my faux travel notebook. The bones of the sketch were followed before adding all my little embellishments. The optional twist of their challenge is hearts, which I'd added.
Thought I'd share what the base of my spread looked like after adhering my base paper. This was a 12x12" sheet that had previously been cut into 6" squares, so I adhered the purple strips down because it looked weirder without them. 😊
And a final view. I'm glad I spent my birthday making this. It makes me happy to look at it. I used bright happy colors to appease my Spring Fever. Thanks for visiting me and I hope you have a good night. XOX

MY CHALLENGE PLAYLIST:
Stencil: Tim Holtz Concerto layering stencil
Floral digis by Alex Syberia and Jan's Digi Stamps
I've used Alex Syberia's Spring Frame digi
Favorite Techniques: Coloring, art journaling, stenciling, stamping, die cutting -- I have too many! 💃
My style is eclectic, but here's my scrappy side. 😉
I painted the blue paint brush handle and the 2 red hearts with Wink of Stella glitter brush pens and that's created some texture, plus the paper layers.

  6. Very nicely laid out journal. I think it's cute that the teacup lady has those appropriate words under her. It really tells a story. The opposite side has a lovely music sheet topped off with a beautiful sentiment. Nice work Aimes--Bethie.
