Happy Hump Day! It's time for my DT sample make for the new challenge at Outlawz Wednesday Sketch, sponsored by Sherry West Arts.
I've been craving Spring and Summer lately, have you? I sure got a lot of pleasure out of making this card. 😊 I've used Sherry's Sunny Sunflowers digi image, which she generously provided us with. I know up north, sunflowers are for autumn, but down here they bloom twice: May-June and September-November. I colored the focal image with Promarkers and added Rose Gold Stickles in the center of the flowers. I fussy cut the image and layered it over Spellbinders Classic Circle and Teardrop Doilies die cuts.
Here's our challenge sketch. I resized it to A7 and rotated it for my card.
The dark and light pink card stocks are SU. I chose two patterns of DCWV designer paper from their 12x12 Summer Stack. I used some green and some yellow sheer dotted ribbon. I raided my paper flower drawers determined to use some up so I layered them and used some old brads to secure them. I also cut some HOTP Tiny Flowers out of the darker SU, adhered one to each large blue brad and dotted the centers with the Stickles. The smaller layered flower at lower left has an old yellow Prima Sprite, still have several of those, I thought they were so adorable at the time, lol. Ok, still do. 😊 I stamped the Elizabeth Craft sentiment in Versamark and heat-embossed with Ranger Lemon Yellow powder, then cut it with an MFT banner die. I glued down another tiny flower beside it on top of the ribbon.
Inside of the card I added a white scrap card stock mat stamped with sentiments by Hero Arts, Hampton Arts and Crafty Sentiments. I used Shady Lane Versafine Clair ink. On back, more of the DCWV paper and a matted, punched and and stamped Impression Obsession siggie.Close-up of the Stickled sunflowersClose-ups of the lace and layered paper flowersAnd a final view. Just looking at this makes me smile and want winter over with, I may be testing positive for spring fever, lol. Thanks for visiting and have a good day! XOX
MY CHALLENGE PLAYLIST:
I have used both big and small paper flowers
I'm loving ALL these colors right now, all together - so Springy/Summery!
Counting all my card stock and flowers and ribbon...so I'm going for it.

ReplyDeleteI've been craving spring and summer also. I have been on the hunt for a green leafy garland to put over my fireplace. I need green. Funny how you can miss a color so much when it is gone, and then just get used to it when it is around. You sunflower card is so pretty Aimeslee. Sunflowers may not be glamorous but they are gorgeous flowers. I like the image you used and how you added the other paper flowers. As I said, hope you have a great rest of your week. Hugs-Erika
