Happy FriYay and Time for a new challenge at Outlawz Festive Fridays! Our sponsor for September is LeAnn's World 101 and the design team has been supplied with images to use. On this card, I'm working with a cute image called My Stocking. The new challenge starts today 9/3 and runs through Thursday 9/16. This challenge gives you themes to choose from and you can enter as many times as you like with a different project. The themes this time are: Christmas, Anniversary, Anything Goes, Congratulations and Birthday. You can find out all the details and come play with us by clicking on this link: Outlawz Festive Fridays September 3-16.
Here's my design team make using LeAnn's image. I've used a Recollections white heavyweight card base and Basic Grey's Blitzen 12x12 collection papers. I also used a Lawn Fawn die to cut the Merry Christmas sentiment out of white card two times and stacked them, using my spray adhesive.
I took my design from Splitcoaststampers Sketch SC62, resizing in PSE to 5x7". Since I have used one of the large Blitzen tags to mat my image, the proportion of element #2 is bigger, but otherwise the sketch was followed.
I printed out the image on Springhill Digital card and colored it with my Promarkers. I added shimmer and shine to a few spots with my Sakura glitter pen. I added 3 of the iridescent snowflakes I bought on Amazon. I added a piece of red ricrac I'd cut using my MFT die that I like to use. And I cut some ground for the girl to stand on using some off-white shimmer card stock and an MFT die set called Grounding Elements. I covered that with Star Dust Stickles.Let me show in the above photo and tell you what I did on the tag. It already had a snowflake patterned paper design but I thought it was too dull. So I used a Crafter's Workshop Flurries stencil, smooshed VersaMark through it, then heat-embossed with white powder.
I forgot to snap a pic of the tag before I stenciled and embossed, but here's a shot of the collection cover with the tag I used at lower left.
I really think the white snowflakes help, make it less grungy looking. I just know when I put the bare tag behind the image, I wasn't feeling it. 😒 Then the 'What if I?'s kicked in. 😁
I used Shady Lane Versafine Clair ink to stamp the Stamplorations sentiment inside the card. Those 2 horizontal white lines in the word Season are supposed to be there, but it bothers me. Oh well. Still gonna use it!
For the back of the card, more BG paper and another of the tags with a Kaiserkraft siggie stamped with Shady Lane Versafine Clair ink.
Three close-up shots (above) are to try to show the shimmer, shine and glitz...
And a final view. Thanks for visiting and until next time, stay well and craft on! xoxo
