Hey there! Hope everyone's doing well. We're heating back up after a week of very mild temps due to overcast skies and rain. If it would just keep alternating, that would be sweet, lol. Hope the heat isn't too bad wherever you are.
I have a birthday guy card to share today using a Dr. Digi digital image "The Rolling Gnomes". The stamp company is British so I'm guessing this could be part snarky commentary on old rocker geezers past their prime and that is indeed snark-worthy. But around MY part of the world, these guys are very reminiscent of "That Li'l Old Band from Texas". They really look so much like ZZ Top that I made it for a ZZ fan and he saw it right away, too! lol 😉
I used SplitCoastStampers SC257, resizing it to 5x7 in PSE. The card base and all patterned papers are from Basic Grey's Lucky collection. I printed out the image on Springhill Digital card and colored it with Promarkers. I accented the coloring with my colored pencils and metallic gel pens. I colored the floor with shimmery Mocha Smooch ink and added glittery splotches in the air with Goldrush Smooch Glitz.I distress-edged the patterned papers with a tool, but not the solid red base and mats. I used a Spellbinders A7 Renaissance Jubilee Label die for the center upper and lower triangles in the middle of the sketch. I added 4 MFT Photo Corner dies cut out of the red to each edge of the image. I hand-stamped MFT sentiments to the image with Nocturne Versafine Clair.Inside I matted with more BG yellow print and then cut another Spellbinders label and stamped MFT and Uniko sentiments with the VF Clair. Before adhering I colored the edge with a Promarker. On back, more paper and a Kaiserkraft siggie stamped in Versamark and heat-embossed in gold on another Spellbinders Label die cut. I colored in the words and surrounding stitching with a white gel pen. Here is a close-up of the shimmer and glitter. In addition to the sky and floor, the mic, belt buckles, drum nails and guitar have metallic glitter gel penning. And a final view. Thanks so much for stopping in and I hope you have a good week coming up! Until next time, stay well and craft on!! xoxo

OH! Aimeslee this is just awesome. Your right about the humour, it's got to be a play on words, Rolling Stones. LOVE LOVE LOVE how you have coloured it and added the metallic pen. Great paper backing also, a SUPER card. Dr Digi will love it I'm sure.

What a great card for someone into rock. I love this image. My husband has always been a Rolling Stones fan. I never used to like them, but after 48 years of listening to his music I've gotten used to them.
