No Bones About It, June 1st is Here!

Greetings! Today I'm sharing a two-fer of sorts. It's my June Love to Craft #59 monthly challenge design team make and Outlawz Color Tuesday challenge guest designer make. I'll be at Outlawz the entire month, sharing makes June 1 (today), June 15th and June 29th.

Love To Craft challenges are monthly, going live at 4:00 AM Mountain Time on the first day of every month and run until 4:00 PM Mountain Time on the last day of the month. We always play Anything Goes and would love to have you join us! For more details, check the sidebar HERE

I followed Outlawz' photo color challenge rules to make my card: black + white + a color in the photo.
I chose red. The twist is to add spots. I chose the sponsor's Dog with Bone digital image to work with and I kept it as is, printed on Springhill Digital card and no coloring, as I thought that looked best with the color scheme. And it does hold its own -- that dog's expression is just too cute! I made this for my cousin's husband who loves getting my cards and he's a big dog lover too.

I used SplitCoastStampers Sketch SC305, keeping it square and resizing to 6x6". I pretty much followed it faithfully, too.

I used a white card stock base and designer papers from Lawn Fawn and Pebbles. The sheet with bones was made by me: I took a piece of black card stock and a Stampers Anonymous stencil by Brett Weldele, inked the card through the stencil using VersaMark, then heat-embossed with white powder. The top circle sentiment by Deep Red Stamps was inked up with Versafine Clair and clear-heat-embossed then punched out, as was its red card stock scrap mat. I created the bottom sentiment in PSE, printed out and cut it with a Lawn Fawn banner die.

I created the inside sentiment as well and the back of the card more of both the Lawn Fawn and Pebbles papers. I punched out another red card scrap and stamped the Technique Tuesday siggie in Versafine Clair and clear-embossed it.

And a final view. I will have another post today after this one, sharing Honey's anniversary card. Thanks so much for dropping by and best wishes for a wonderful day, make no bones about it! heehee XOX

  7. I love everything about this! The dog is adorable, the minimalist colour scheme is awesome as the red really pops, and that sentiment is oh, so true as we get older. Great card, my friend!

  8. Super cute card, Aimeslee! We're so happy to have you join us as our Guest Designer this month at The Outlawz Colour Challenge! It's going to be great having you around, especially with such fabulous cards!
I have the same Pebbles paper pad and always wondered how to use the scraps after making my projects. Seeing how you've added to the back of your card, as well as the piece on the front, has given me inspiration to get the scraps out and play! Thank you!
