May 11th Weekly Post

Happy Sunday and Happy Mother's Day to all who are celebrating.
I'm blessed to have a loving and thoughtful daughter.
She sent me a gorgeous purple orchid, a neck massager and a foot massager!
And I always thank my Honey on this day, without whom I wouldn't be a Mom!
I had a wild day: facetimed with my daughter, and then had a Mom Fest with my girlfriend across the street. Honey made us ribs, potato salad, stewed okra and tomatoes, and banana pudding for dessert.
Then I had to take a nap and woke up to make this post.

Michele is hosting this week at Sunday Postcard Art and her theme is Dinosaurs.
I told my daughter that I was at a loss about what to make and she had the perfect answer:
Do Barney, Mom!
Oh, the memories of our little girl and Barney!
So, this was the perfect Mother's Day/Dinosaur mash-up for me, lol.
All digital in PSE, using clipart from Etsy Animaymay
I have a funny story related to Barney. I was a high school classmate of the man who has been the only voice of Barney from day one to today: Robert "Bob" West.
From time to time I would hear another mom denigrate Barney as a tool of the devil.
This was so ironic to me because Robert was and is a devout Methodist who wore a huge cross necklace every single day of school and walked the walk. He has been with the family who created Barney since the beginning and I'd bet a small fortune that if there was anything demonic or satanic going on, Robert would never have associated himself with it.
So, IYKYK! KWIM?
😎

And this was the card I made my mother-in-law.
I used a pre-made card blank (sidestep fold), Cottage Cutz and Crafters Companion sentiment dies, Spellbinders sentiment stamps with Versafine Clair ink, Basic Grey Sweet Threads designer papers and a Katy Sue 3D Decoupage set. Also used a Martha Stewart border punch and a few yellow rhinestones to finish.
No sketch this time.
She loved it!

And this is all I have time to share this post.
Spending some quality time with Honey next.
Hope you all have a wonderful week coming up
and
THANKS for the visit!
Seeya next Sunday,
XOX

Sounds like a wonderful Mother's Day Aimeslee. And I like your Barney idea for your postcard. Who thinks Barney is the Devil? Barney?I suppose everyone has the right to look at things like they do but I don't think Barney did my daughter any harm. And that's a really lovely card for MIL. I can't see how she wouldn't like it. Have a wonderful new week! hugs-Erika

AW! Sounds like you were spoilt by your family, how lovely. I love the story about Barney, it's so easy to criticise, isn't it? Of course your MiL loved her card, it's so beautiful. You both had a great day. x
