December 22nd Weekly Post

 Happy Sunday!
I'm a little early because I'm guest hosting again for Sunday Postcard Art and it goes live on UK time which is 6 hours ahead of me.
The theme for this week is Scandi Christmas.
I went with a Scandinavian folkart look, using a couple of stamp sets on my pre-cut 4X6 Cut Cardstock card. The trees were stamped using Hero Arts' Color Layering Nordic Tree set and the top and bottom accents were stamped using Funky Fossil's Scandi Home set. I accented with stars die cut out of red foil card using a Sizzix die and punched circles. The Swedish sentiment God Jul was created using some very old Karen Foster card stock stickers. For the final touch, I ran a red Promarker all around the edge of the card and done.
I kept it clean, symmetrical and colorful.
I love the Scandi look in art and decor so this was fun for me to create.

That's all I have ready to show you today. I wanted to show a few photos of our house decorations, but I just haven't had time to take and process them yet. I will try to have them for next Sunday. Life is busy around here right now and I'm barely keeping up! LOL It's a fun busy though and I hope you are having a good holiday season. I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and may this season bring you joy!
Thanks, as always, for the visit and see you next Sunday!

  1. Your artwork is wonderful! I didn't know what a Scandi Christmas was, so I did some research, and there's quite a bit of information on the various kinds of art and living styles to choose from. This was a fun challenge, hard to choose which way to go, and I learned something new!

  10. Your Scandi Christmas postcard is wonderful. I like those folk art trees. I've seen that set and maybe I "need" it- grin. It's a super cold morning here (was below zero when I woke up) so I'm sitting next to woodstove and running the heater up in my art space for later. Life must have been cold the "old" days when people had poorly insulated homes and so much heat went out through the fireplace flues. Still, it sounds romantic in a weird holiday way. I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday Aimeslee, and that it stays a little warmer for you also. hugs-Erika
