Thank You Sew Much

Hey everyone. How's it going? Today I have a Thank You card for a dear friend. I watercolor-stenciled the front and back base mats.
Supplies Used:
SU and Springhill Digital card stocks
Water color paper
A Colorful Life Lace stencil (front)
Dylusions Shattered stencil (back)
Distress Oxide reinkers, diluted 50/50 with water
Funky Fossil stamped sentiment
Versafine Clair ink
Trimcraft Santoro Mirabelle EF Folder, embossed on DCWV card
Altenew Embroidered Blooms Stamps and Dies
Gecko Galz digital images from Sew What's New and Stitch in Time collage sheets

I used this Splitcoaststampers sketch for my layout design, resizing to A9.
The way I did the watercoloring was, I put a drop of Cracked Pistashio, Tea Rose and Scattered Straw DOX reinkers in palette wells and diluted each one with a drop of water. I did the back mat first, using a wet brush. I got some seep-thru so I changed to a sponge finger dauber for the front mat, squeezing out the liquid onto a paper towel before stenciling. I ink-distressed the dry-embossed card with Scattered Straw DOX.
The back  along with a stamped, water colored and circle-punched siggie.
And final view.

Now some food for Rain's Art & Dinner Date.
We made brunch last Sunday. Scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon, toast and hash brown patties with ketchup. Sometimes I don't mind the ketchup touching any of my other food, but sometimes I do mind. So I make a little dam to segregate the ketchup, lol. Salsa is another matter. Had I thought of it, I'd have pulled our big jug of Pace Picante Sauce out of the fridge and poured it on everything. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‹πŸ˜  I am well aware it's tomato-based like the ketchup but I love those spices and chopped up bits of veggies. At any rate, this is a meal we always enjoy.

Thanks for visiting me today  -  have a good one!

  12. OMG your creations are beautiful and obviously much thought goes into them. I would eat breakfast at your house. I love what you served and I also would love the Picante salsa with it. Hmmm ... you are making me hungry even though I just ate my breakfast (boring oatmeal with fruit). I love your play on words too ... it is "sew" clever :)

  18. A fabulous card Aimeslee - but what makes your posting even better is the plate with the crispy bacon. I think crispy bacon has to be my most favourite food.

  19. A beautiful card, I love your layout.
Your card brought back some very happy memories! One of my grandmas had a sewing machine just like your image. It was built into a table and there was a huge rocking plate on the base of the table that made the sewing machine work. She used to let me sit with her while she sewed and press the plate - I found it such fun!
    Thanks for joining us again.
