Hello there, hoping you are all ok. My thoughts and prayers are with my friends in the UK for losing the Queen. I've had to enlist Honey's help to type this and get it posted. My hip pain still hasn't allowed me to sit down and I've been standing up with my neck brace on to create, resting one foot on a small stepstool. And taking lots of breaks. I did get a pain-blocker injection Friday and hopefully will see some improvement. I also somehow screwed up my email inbox trying to read and reply standing up and am waiting on a friend to help me with it once I can sit down. I'm just a holy mess!
This is a birthday card I've made for a very dear girlfriend I've known since our college days. She loves the beach and anything tropical, so I wanted to make this before we get fully into Fall mode. I used multiple challenges to inspire my details. The printed image and paper scraps were waiting in a shoebox lid for me to finally get to, as I'd planned to use this image on her card months ago.
I used the current Creative Moments sketch for a second time, but this time I changed it up slightly.
I used DCWV patterned paper and SU card stock scraps except for the A7 card base. The hot chick is Hot Flash Bestie Doll #8 that I colored with Promarkers, colored pencils and gel pens. I used Crafters Companion Gemini Torn Edge Oval Nested dies to cut the 3-layer focal mat. I used Sizzix Tropical Thinlits to make the floral corner and Newton's Nook flip flop stamps and dies. The sentiment is from one of Faith Skrla's From the Heart digi sets. The pink ribbon and 3 pearls are from my stash.
Spectrum Noir Neon Pink Glitter pen around the focal mat and Sakura Stardust glitter gel penning on her floral headband, eyes, lips, fan and drink.
I used a Spectrum Noir Glitter pen to color the stamped and die cut Newton's Nook flip flops I cut out of scrap card stock.
Inside, a paper scrap to mat the Cas-ual Fridays sentiment stamped with Versafine Clair ink on a Spellbinders Torn Edge Rectangle die cut.
The back with more paper scraps and a stamped/punched/colored siggie.

Lovely birthday card, not easy to do when standing up, I know the feeling and hip pain can drive you nuts, I had at last a guided injection in my hip after years of pain, its slightly better, I hope your injection works it does take a while to work as I have found out. Nice to have your hubby to help you.

ReplyDeleteI hope the injection helps. I had one of those 'assisted ones into my shoulder last June and it certainly has helped and is lasting longer than other different ones in the past. Your card is beautiful and it is so sweet that Honey helped.
