It's a Surprise!

Hey there. I'm still taking it easy, finishing up my meds, trying not to spend a lot more time at the computer than I'm needing to for my required stuff. I do need to post this card as I'm a Surprise Guest Designer over at Bugaboo Stamps Challenge Blog this month!

The challenge this week is Bingo and there is still time to play with us!
I have used the middle row across: Die / Bugaboo image / Players Choice (Stenciling).

My card design is based on last time's Bugaboo sketch - a new one came out on Sunday, Sketch #810.

I chose to use papers from Prima's A4-sized Madeline pad on the card front. I edge-distressed it before adhering to the SU card base. I also used a few strips of scrap paper and card stocks. I used A Spellbinders Art Deco Astoria Labels die to cut my focal image, a Bugaboo digital (that I had printed on card stock with my laser printer) named Scarlette Cafe.  I printed Scarlette again on Avery Removable Sticker Paper which is what I've been using as masking paper. Today's card is the first time I used it to mask a digital image and it worked great! I fussy cut and applied the mask. Then I took A Colorful Life's Boho Fabric stencil and with a variety of my inks and my blending brushes I stenciled a disco background of sorts for her.

I colored in the stencil negative and Scarlette with ProMarkers and lightly traced around her hair and my stenciling with my fine tip Carbon Desk pen. I stamped some dots in the hot pink circles of the focal background with gold and silver pigment ink and then heat-embossed them so they would sparkle like disco balls. A final ink distressing around the edges and some Wink of Stella gold in her drink and clear Wink randomly on the background completed the focal image. I stamped some MFT sentiments on the sideways label that's part of the base paper, and also stamped and heat-embossed a Wild Rose Studio round birthday greeting on some pink card stock, punched it out and layered it on two of Avery Elle's Signature die cuts.

For the inside of the card I used stamps by Impression Obsession, Hot Off The Press, and My Favorite Things.

On the back, I used a paper from Prima's A4 Melody pad, plus more of the patterned paper stash scraps. I edge-distressed before adhering to my card base. I stamped an Impression Obsession siggie on a punched circle scrap layered on top.

Some close-ups of this cute cute image.

I hope you will play along if you get time! I will be contributing for the next two Saturday challenges. I love Bugaboo stamps, so it's a pleasure for me to be their Surprise! LOL Stay well and safe and see you again soon! XOX

What a cool sketch and sassy image! Congrats on your GD gig! You're so talented... wouldn't surprise me if they want you full-time, lol! Glad you're feeling better and finishing your meds! So many times we're tempted to just stop taking them when we feel better and that's not cool! Take care, my friend! ;)
